Social Media in Property Marketing

Market Update

August and September to date have continued to see strong sales results and demand across all property types with a number of our vendors properties selling close to or above the asking price. 

Demand for quality homes is still outstripping supply, particularly within markets such as Murrumbateman and in residential homes under $500,000 in Yass.

The larger, quality rural holdings are also keenly sought after with a range of purchasers looking to either expand their current holdings or enter the rural market for the first time.

Social Media

We regularly see agents on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and the like. Yass Real Estate has chosen not to go down this path as much of the hype surrounding this is purely agent branding and not the promotion of their client’s homes.  As an agency we pride ourselves on presenting our vendors homes professionally within the media and these platforms rarely have the ability to do this with properties becoming lost amongst a jumble of other material.

Serious purchasers, regardless of the age demographic, will always either view properties on dedicated property websites (Allhomes, Realestate.com, agency websites etc) or will speak directly with agents as part of their property search. These websites already have the ability for an interested purchaser to share a particular property listing to friends via social media if they wish to do so. 

We also believe that to be active on social media you need to have a constant presence and, for the team at Yass Real Estate, would mean that we are taken away from our core focus of selling and managing our clients’ homes.
